"governor jerry brown" is painting a dark picture... of what could happen... if lawmakers don't pass his climate change plan. he claims-- a 'no' vote-- would mean higher taxes... and more pollution. gov. jerry brown: this issue is a fundamental issue. this issue of climate change. now, i know some people don't believe it. i know some people say it's not that big a deal. joey the governor is also urging lawmakers to pass a bill... extending the cap-and-trade program into 20-30. joey almost 30 firefighters from five valley agencies will be training in fresno today... alex they are preparing for an earthquake type scenario using a parking garage already marked for demolition. alex cbs 47's joe moeller is live on g street with the details joe. moe the firefighters at the urban search and rescue station have been working on this for weeks... and today ... their time will turn into training moe take a look at this video... this aerial video provided by fresno fire... shows the parking garage here on g street... today it will become an earthquake-scenario training ground... for five search and rescue departments from around the state. they will be using all the tools like the jaws of life...jack hammers...even drills designed to go through concrete. victim "mannequins" tucked into cars placed around the rubble. joe: the drill starts today at 4 p-m and goes until about midnight. so these teams will be doing most of this in the dark. live in downtown fresno joe moeller. alex this morning.... congressman steve scalise is now in fair condition at a hopsital in washington after undergoing another operation. alex scalise was shot in the hip last month... when a gunman opened fire on a republican congressional baseball practice in northern virginia. scalise was first released from intensive care june 22nd.... following multiple surgeries, but was re-admitted last week due to infection concerns. joey happening today... marchers plan to walk 17 miles... from the headquarters of the national rifle association.... to the department of justice in d-c. joey it's in protest of the n-r-a's response to the philando castile trial verdict. the marchers are part of the movement that brought crowds together.... to the womens march on washington... the day after president donald trump's inauguration. several roads will be closed as the walk will take about six hours to complete. alex vice president mike pence will be the keynote speaker today... at the national governor's association meeting in rhode island. there.. the nation's governors will discuss pressing issues including... cyber security, global economy, and health care. canadian prime minister justin trudeau... will also give a speech... more than 30 governors are expected to attend the event. alex the man considered... "a person of interest".. in the disappearance of four pennsylvania men... has now admitted his was involved. alex a lawyer for 20-year-old "cosmo dinardo" says... his client confessed to killing the men... and has told investigators where to find the bodies. law enforcement says "dinardo" suffers from schizophrenia... and will face murder charges. defense attorney paul lang he admitted to being part or actually committing the murders all four yes alex investigators have not released the motive for the crime. dinardo's confession means the d-a will not pursue the death penalty. joey this morning... the bakersfield police department... is conducting an internal affairs investigation... into allegations of "police brutality." joey 19-year-old "tatyana hargrove"... claims she's the victim. she says officers mistook her for a suspect... threating people with a machete. she says they punched her in the face... and had a k-9... bite her on the leg. she's now facing 5- misdemeanor charges... for resisting arrest. "craig reece: i just hope that this would not happen to anyone else. our feelings for our daughter, i hope someone will see this and see the injustice, and hope that they will feel it" joey the n-double-a-c-p is representing "hargrove"... and requesting that all charges be dropped. joey happening today... the 4th and fiinal service... for "poverello house" founder "papa mike." joey "mike mc garvin"-- better known as "papa mike"-- died jul 1st. he was 73. he spent decades helping the homeless in downtown fresno. today's service is at 10 o'clock this morning... at the "poverello house." the public is invited. alex in the south valley... there's new technology for riders of the ''visalia transit " alex it includes something called: " text-to-track ". riders can get the exact location and arrival time for the next bus... sent directly to their phones. there's also a website called... " visalia transit dot info.
